Mount Olympus Is A Trailer Park...

Hats Off!
I just ordered the above titled documentary on Mimi Weddell (94), an actress who has made a second career playing bit parts in movies for the last thirty years.
Clips from it are on the link below; a wee bit pollyanna grey power, but she's fabulous, so who cares.
Can't wait!

Two Legendary Pink Bots
I just came from seeing Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.
Delighted to finally see some ladybots in the films, but I was a bit bummed that Arcee didn't get more screen time.
This li'l snippet, compliments of Wikipedia, explains, if not excuses, why:
"Arcee was initially meant to appear in the 2007 film... but was ultimately dropped from it due to concerns of her being too small compared to the other bots, and the fact that the writers felt there was not enough time to explain her "gender" (Transformers comic continuity stated that they don't have sexes, but she was introduced in issue #234 of the U.K. Marvel series to appease feminists - who hated her because she was pink) . Whether to explain robotic gender or not was something the writers were unsure about... the issue eventually remaining unaddressed in the finished movie"
Pussies.
To help even the cosmic scales of robo-misogyny, I also present Arcee's white-trash not quite kissing Gundam cousin, Lacee.

Mrs. Molinsky's Top 3
Joan Rivers will always have a special li'l place in my heart, not just because she was the queen of the one-liners when I was growing up, but because she was my father's most hated celebrity; he literally (and without fail) would yell "whore!", "bitch!", or "fuckin' cunt!" every-time an ad for her appearing on a talk show or guest hosting The Tonight Show would pop up.
Which always broke up the monotony of forced family time viewing...

PAGLIAcci Sings
Everyone's favorite - or at least mine - gay man in a lesbian's body voices her no punches pulled opinion on her recent breakup, Obama's response to queer issues (a word I detest, b.t.w.), and the lack of sophistication that's prevalent in the "naval gazing" gay community.

The Emotibot Revolution
Leave it to the Japanese to invent a robot that displays seven different human emotions, including joy, sadness and disgust.
To express disgust the robot prototype, named Kobian "purses its lips and withdraws one hand in an effeminate manner".
It has soft rubber hands, and is being developed for use in nursing (!); what else to say that the video clip below doesn't:

Montygog's Art-O-Rama!
While it's the chance to walk through the world's largest comic/toy box that lures me back to Wizard World each summer, it's the (oft gorgeously demented and quite humorless) cosplayers and talented artists that I'm introduced to that bring me the most pleasure.
I just lost - or gained, as the case may be - a good hour perusing through local artist Dave Perillo's most excellent blog, and wanted to post a few of my favorite horror themed illustrations (from a Halloween series he did in '07).
